Position: Director, Total Rewards- Compensation and Benefits

Reports to: Vice President of Human Resources

Location: Nouria Home Office- Worcester MA

The Director, Total Rewards- Compensation and Benefits will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company compensation and benefit functions. The Director, Compensation and Benefit Manager will bring significant expertise in the implementation and administration of compensation and benefit programs that support the organization's business strategy. Serves as subject matter expert to VP of Human Resources regarding short- and long-term initiatives related to benefits and compensation.

Primary Responsibilities

Compensation

  • Develop the design and administration of compensation programs in a collaborative manner with cross functional leaders and HR team
  • Develop compensation proposals for newly promoted and newly hired employees
  • Provide easy-to-understand position recommendations for base pay, incentive pay, merit, off-cycle transactions, and executive compensation
  • Utilize internal data, external market data, competitive environment, and candidate experiences to generate competitive packages that align with the organization's compensation philosophy
  • Collaborate with VP, HR in the creation of job leveling process
  • Actively participate in the successfully implementation and management of compensation activities including annual compensation planning cycle
  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state legislation that may affect compensation policies

Benefits

  • Lead a team of Benefits Administrators
  • Manage the employee benefits programs which includes group health, flexible spending, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and wellness benefits
  • Works with Benefits Consultants/Brokers to provide strategic direction and recommendations on benefit programs that attract, motivate, and retain top talent
  • Execute the annual open enrollment process
  • Oversee the management of benefits vendors relationships, benefit contracts, and bid negotiations
  • Verify, breakdown, and submit the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies
  • Manages the administration of benefit vendors including billing, reconciliation, and coordination with organization's finance department
  • Manage the benefits administration system
  • Work closely with the accounting and payroll departments and benefits carriers to resolve billing discrepancies; regularly audit bills and benefits administration system to ensure clean data and correct billing
  • Fulfills compliance and reporting requirements of related government rules and regulations including ERISA, FLSA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA & worker's compensation, and other applicable Labor and/or tax laws and regulations

Required Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and seven years of related management experience in compensation and benefits management or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of compensation, ERISA, FLSA and other related regulations
  • Experience with managing compensation and benefits systems
  • Able to lead and develop employees by guiding, training, and offering counsel
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Develop relationships with cross function team members
  • Possess strong attention to detail, analytical, time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office
